They\u2019re commonly seen on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrclutch.com\/mot\">MOT<\/a> certificates, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrclutch.com\/car-servicing\"><strong class=\"text-dark-green\">servicing<\/strong><\/a> checklists and garage invoices relating to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrclutch.com\/tyres\"><strong class=\"text-dark-green\">tyres<\/strong><\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mrclutch.com\/brake-pads-discs-replacement\">brakes<\/a> and bulbs, in order to indicate each side of the vehicle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Nearside or N\/S<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Nearside, sometimes indicated as N\/S refers to the nearside of a vehicle when driving on a UK road, so the side of the vehicle which is closest to the kerb. This side is, therefore the passenger\u2019s side of the vehicle when driving a right-hand drive vehicle on a UK road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Offside or O\/S<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Offside, sometimes indicated as O\/S refers to the offside of a vehicle when driving on a UK road, so the side of the vehicle which is furthest from the kerb. This side is, therefore the driver\u2019s side of the vehicle when driving a right-hand drive vehicle on a UK road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>N\/S\/F or N\/S\/R<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The abbreviations N\/S\/F or N\/S\/R include the above reference to the nearside, but also include a reference to either the front or rear of the vehicle.
