MOT testing is a legal requirement for the vast majority of vehicles, including electric vehicles/EVs over three years old, with the purpose of making sure that your car meets the minimum safety requirements.
Without a valid MOT, your car insurance and road tax become invalidated and your car may not be roadworthy. Therefore, it is important that you make sure your MOT certificate is in date (use our handy MOT Checker Tool to check yours now) and you book your next MOT before your current certificate expires. You can get an MOT up to a month, minus a day, before it runs out and keep the same renewal date.
We have MOT testing facilities at the majority of our branches across the UK, which means your local Mr Clutch Autocentre should be able to fulfil both your car servicing and MOT testing requirements.
How much does an MOT test cost?
The cost of an MOT test starts at just £41.99 at participating branches, and can never be more than the governments’ maximum amount, which is currently set at £54.85 for class 4 MOT tests, £80.65 for class 5 MOT tests and £58.60 for class 7 MOT tests.
How long does an MOT test take?
MOT tests take around 45 minutes to an hour to complete, and all of our branches have comfortable waiting areas, so you can wait in comfort whilst we test your vehicle. Alternatively, you can leave your vehicle with us, and we’ll contact you when your MOT test has been completed.
Do you offer same day MOT test bookings?
If you’ve left it a bit late, fortunately we do offer same day MOT test bookings, and these can be easily booked online, subject to availability.
